There is something so special about a wedding where you can feel how much every single person there is loved. Kelly and Mark's Warehouse 6 Events wedding in Holland, Michigan was exactly that kind of day. It was a colorful, heartfelt fall celebration of two people, and their kids, coming together as one beautiful blended family.
Getting Ready at Warehouse 6 Events
The day started in the bright, airy getting-ready space at Warehouse 6, with crisp white brick walls and round black mirrors. It was the perfect backdrop for Kelly's final touches. Her stunning gown was covered in intricate beading that caught the light with every move. My favorite part was the sheer illusion back, lined with delicate buttons. Kelly finished her look with soft, romantic curls pinned up loosely, pearl drop earrings, and the prettiest beaded lace slingback heels.
Every detail had meaning. Kelly designed and created all of the decor herself, and her mom made her bouquet. It was a vibrant mix of deep red dahlias, hot pink stock, peach and blush blooms, ferns, and soft sage greenery. It was bold, joyful, and so perfectly her. We even tucked her pear-shaped diamond and their wedding bands into the greenery for a few detail shots before the day really got going.
Mark looked sharp in a tan three-piece suit, a sage green tie, and a burgundy dahlia boutonniere, which was pinned on by a special loved one in one of the sweetest moments of the morning. His guys matched him in crisp white shirts, cognac leather suspenders, and tan pants. Seeing the whole crew together against the industrial black-framed windows, all grins, told you everything about how much fun this group was going to have.
An Emotional Ceremony Against the Brick
The ceremony took place outdoors against Warehouse 6's classic red brick. Kelly decorated it with flowing white fabric, Edison string lights, and pots of burgundy and white mums for a cozy fall touch.
When Kelly started down the aisle, Mark leaned forward with his hands on his knees, completely overcome. That reaction is something I will never forget. And he wasn't the only one. The kids standing up beside them had happy tears too. Watching two families become one, with every person so clearly loved and wanted, was one of the most moving things I've gotten to photograph.
When it came time for the kiss, Mark wrapped Kelly up in the biggest embrace, and the whole place erupted. Afterward, we gathered the whole family together in their sage greens, creams, and tans. It's a portrait I know they'll treasure for years.
Golden Fall Portraits in the Field
One of my favorite things about a Warehouse 6 Events wedding is that you get the industrial charm of the venue and gorgeous natural spots close by. We wandered out to a nearby field full of teasel and goldenrod for portraits, and it gave us the perfect fall palette of warm browns, soft golds, and deep greens.
Kelly and Mark were so easy to photograph because they genuinely could not stop laughing together. We had them walking hand in hand, then sharing quiet forehead-to-forehead moments, and that cathedral-length tulle train spilled across the grass. The close-ups of Kelly's hand on Mark's cheek, showing off that pear-shaped ring, are some of my favorites from the whole day.
A Reception Full of Joy (and Bundt Cake!)
Inside, the reception space glowed with string lights strung across the open ceiling. Instead of a traditional cake, Kelly and Mark served treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Mini bundtinis were stacked on a gold filigree tiered stand, and the two of them shared a full-size bundt for their cake cutting. It was SO them, and SO delicious.
Their grand entrance through Warehouse 6's huge glass garage door was pure celebration, with both arms in the air and the biggest smiles. Then, with that same door rolled open to the fall air, they shared their first dance as husband and wife. It was simple and sweet, with flower petals scattered at their feet.
To the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Lauters,
Thank you so much for letting me be part of such a meaningful day. Your wedding wasn't just about the two of you. It was about a whole family coming together, and I felt that in every single moment.
Kelly, you were glowing. Knowing you created all of the decor yourself, and that your mom made your bouquet, made every detail feel so personal. That beaded gown was absolutely breathtaking on you.
Mark, your reaction when Kelly walked toward you is something I'll carry with me. Hands on your knees, completely overwhelmed with love. It said more than words ever could.
My favorite part of the day was seeing your kids in tears of pure happiness as you said your vows. A family built on that much love is something truly special.
I hope these photos always remind you of the laughter, the happy tears, and the joy of becoming one family.
Wishing you a lifetime of love, full tables, and plenty of bundt cake.
