Rebecca & Joshua’s Summer Wedding at Cascade Hills Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Rebecca and Joshua’s wedding at Cascade Hills Country Club was one of those summer wedding days that somehow felt elegant, romantic, and SO much fun all at the same time. From the soft blues and hydrangeas to the gorgeous grounds, heartfelt moments, and a dance floor that did not quit, their entire day felt completely them.
And as a photographer, Cascade Hills Country Club gave us sooooo many beautiful spaces to work with throughout their wedding day!
Getting Ready at Cascade Hills Country Club
The day started with Rebecca getting ready alongside her girls in their adorable blue and white striped pajamas. The darker wood throughout the getting-ready space paired so beautifully with all of the light blue details they chose for the wedding.
And can we talk about Rebecca’s dress?! She wore the most beautiful gown with a sparkly, pearl-detailed bodice, a romantic princess-style neckline, and a full skirt that photographed like an absolute DREAM. Her veil had gorgeous lace detailing that made those classic veil shots even better.
But one of my favorite details was something her mom made for her. Rebecca wore the prettiest delicate pearl strands draped around her upper arms, almost like an off-the-shoulder pearl shoulder necklace. Knowing her mom hand-beaded it made it even more special. Those are the kinds of wedding details I LOVE photographing because they aren't just pretty, they actually mean something.
Before heading into the rest of the day, Rebecca and Joshua shared their vows together inside Cascade Hills Country Club. The staircase, chandelier, and soft natural light coming through the windows made the entire moment feel intimate and timeless.
A Blue Summer Wedding in Grand Rapids
The entire wedding color palette was PERFECT for summer. Joshua and his groomsmen wore tan suits with baby blue ties, while the bridesmaids wore light blue dresses in slightly different styles.
And the hydrangeas!!! Rebecca carried the dreamiest bouquet of blue hydrangeas, while her bridesmaids carried white hydrangeas. Against all of the green throughout the golf course, the blue, white, tan, and green combination photographed beautifully.
After their outdoor ceremony, we had plenty of room to explore the grounds at Cascade Hills Country Club for portraits. The golf course gave us huge trees, gorgeous greens, and plenty of space for Rebecca and Joshua to actually move around, laugh, and have fun together rather than every portrait feeling super posed.
Of course, we HAD to take advantage of that gorgeous veil, too!
An Indoor Reception at Cascade Hills Country Club
Inside, Cascade Hills Country Club is just as beautiful. The reception space features gorgeous vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, large windows overlooking the golf course, and one of the prettiest dance floors.
There is also a beautiful outdoor area that was perfect for cocktail hour, allowing guests to enjoy the summer evening and views of the course before heading inside for the reception.
And once that reception started... these people knew how to PARTY.
Rebecca even changed into a gorgeous fitted floral reception dress later in the evening, which was SO fun and completely changed her look for the dance floor. Their bridal party and guests kept the party going all night long. There was dancing, glow sticks, lots of laughing, and even a late-night Yesterdog snack—which, honestly, is a pretty amazing way to end a Grand Rapids wedding.
The Perfect Ending to Their Wedding Day
One of my favorite moments happened once the reception was coming to an end.
While everyone headed outside to prepare for Rebecca and Joshua’s sparkler exit, the two of them stayed behind for one final private dance.
After spending an entire day surrounded by their favorite people, they got a few quiet minutes together on that beautiful dance floor to soak in the fact that they were officially MARRIED. I absolutely love when my couples plan a private last dance because there is something so special about watching the room go from a packed dance floor to just the two of them.
Then we headed outside, where their friends and family were waiting with sparklers for one final celebration. Rebecca and Joshua made their way through the tunnel, ending their Cascade Hills Country Club wedding with the biggest kiss.
From the sentimental details to the blue hydrangeas, gorgeous golf course portraits, Yesterdog, nonstop dancing, private last dance, and sparkler exit, this day was filled with everything I love about photographing weddings.
To the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Wieber,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture such a beautiful and FUN day in your lives. From the sweet, quiet moments at the beginning of the day to a dance floor that absolutely did not stop, your wedding was filled with so much love, laughter, and personality.
Rebecca, you were absolutely stunning. Every little detail felt so thoughtfully chosen, but the beautiful pearl arm piece your mom made for you was something extra special. Getting to photograph details that hold that much meaning is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day.
Joshua, the way you looked at Rebecca all day said everything. Whether you were exchanging vows, running across the golf course together, sharing Yesterdog, or dancing the night away, it was so easy to see how much fun the two of you genuinely have together.
One of my favorite moments of the entire day was your private last dance. After a full day surrounded by all of your favorite people, watching the two of you have that dance floor completely to yourselves and soak in those final few minutes before your sparkler exit was SO special.
Thank you for welcoming me into such an important chapter of your story and allowing me to capture everything from the sentimental moments to the absolute PARTY at the end of the night. I hope these photos always bring you right back to exactly how this day felt.
Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, late-night Yesterdog, and so many adventures together.xo, Lexie
